Dead Run 2 is out this week

Here's a preview...

And here's two of the pages with out word balloons...

I had set the last scene of issue #1 as a very toned down night scene to cap off a rather colorful issue. Had I known at the time that issue #2 was going to take place almost entirely in that night scene I might not have made it so gray. Oh well.

The End League preview'n

http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=21769

Rick talks a bunch about the ending of The End League, and there are numerous pics from the upcoming issue 8 (or is it out already?). Also, there is a version of the TPB cover, what an early sneak peak!

Also, here's a page from the preview just to jazz up this post!

Long Box

Ok, so I know I said I was off to work, but I lied.

While I was reading the post-con run down that Dustin wrote over at the Heroes Con blog I saw that he mentioned a new program called Long Box. Now I'm not clear on the details because I haven't read this article yet, but the gist is that it's iTunes for comics. During the show I was resting my feet at the 12 Gauge booth when Rantz Hoseley(I think it was him) came up and pitched Long Box to Doug Wagner. The idea sounded interesting, but to be honest I kind of forgot about it until I saw it mentioned in Dustin's write up. So, I followed the link and was ready to educate myself on Long Box, but before I could read I noticed the pictures in the article showing the program in use. There was Phonogram Singles Club #1 as the example issue!

I love working on that book, and it's neat to see it pop up when you least expect it. That's right, I said neat.

Now I'm going to actually read the words instead of just look at the pictures. Oh, and then I'm getting right back to work. For real.

Heroes Con

I attended Heroes Con last weekend, and had a great time. There are already some write ups and uploaded photos out there on the web, and since I should be working instead of doing this I am going to defer to those for a description of the weekend. Eric Canete had a lot of nice things to say about the weekend, and Evan Bryce did quite a comprehensive run down of his weekend, and then you can always go and check out the Heroes Con blog. For those who like pictures more than words the Heroes Con guys and gals have a flickr account with loads of photos from the weekend. You can even spot Nayoung and I in one of the photos taken at the after party. Speaking of the after party, that comic shop was nothing short of amazing and I wish I had something similar in my area.

Anyhow, if Heroes is a show you can attend you should attend. It's small in size, but draws a huge ammount of talent and is a great overall atmosphere.

Now back to work.

Turns out it was this past week.

So a couple of weeks ago when I said that Phonogram was coming out, I seemed to be a tad bit off. In actuality it was just going to the printer that week. The delay was no fault of the creative team, as we had the issue done long before it's eventual printing. The issue is out now, and in fact it came out last Wednesday (6/10) in case you're interested in picking it up.

An added note about issue completion, issue 4 is also written, drawn, and colored. So hopefully there won't be any delay in #4's release. The format Kieron has given this issue is certainly interesting, and as I told him, the issue will either thrive or die based on his dialogue because of how he has set up the issue. I think it's another great issue, and I'm sure fans will love it, but I'm really interested to see how it's recieved. Fortunately, Jamie's knack for conveying emotions and character with his drawings will help sell Kieron's vision for this issue. You'll see what I mean when you get the issue.

Anyhow, enough about an issue you won't see for a while and more about issue 3. Here's a link to a 5 page preview, and another page of colored artwork without words...

TEL #8

There is a preview of The End League #8 over at Dark Horse. This is the last issue that Eric Canete will be providing the interior art and he really went out with a bang! It was a fun issue to color, and you should check it out when it comes out on 6/24/09.

Dead Run #1 is out...

... as of two days ago. That one kind of slipped by me. I'm done with issue #2 already so this book should stay monthly for all 4 issues.

Here's three more pages that haven't been previewed elsewhere (with the exception of maybe my DA page).
